TA NEA
On May 28 2011, TA NEA, one of the most historic newspapers in Greece, marked its’ 80th year anniversary. Due to the challenging times that this country is going through and its’ humble nature, the newspaper chose to celebrate with a special edition on it’s printed weekend version of November 26-27 2011. Among the wishes of some of the leading figures of Greece’s political, cultural and socioeconomic scene and some very touching stories of its’ founding members, who have formed one of the most integrated schools of journalism in Greece, 15 contemporary artists have dedicated artworks of their own vision of TA NEA. A newspaper whose name literally means “The News” and whose soul through the lifelong work of its’ founders D. AND C. Lambrakis has always been connected to Democracy and the Truth. From all the artworks that I saw through the pages, this is the one that spoke to me. Maybe the artist and I share a somehow similar vision of what TA NEA really means..”Free birds flying high in the sky carrying news and messages for the world to see”.

and as they endlessly come and go…
..they measure through their movement the stillness of the skies…” Christos Bokoros
