The initial womenswear designer of All Saints Fashion, Kait Bolongaro, who later created Bolongaro Trevor, and Stuart Trevor, founded All Saints Fashion in 1994. All Saints Fashion began as a wholesale clothing company that catered only to upscale stores like Harrods and Harvey Nichols. Stuart Trevor’s moniker “The Saint” was derived from his initials “ST” and All Saints Fashion Road in Notting Hill, London, where he spent a lot of time. These two factors were used to name the business. On All Saints Day in 1997, the first standalone All Saints store opened in London’s Foubert Place, which is off Carnaby Street. The next year, in 1998, the business debuted its first womenswear collection.

All Saints had grown to ten locations in the UK by the middle of 2004. Fashion financier Kevin Stanford, who co-founded the womenswear brand Karen Millen, acquired a majority share in AllSaints by buying out all of its partners save Stuart Trevor between the middle of 2004 and the end of 2005. Stanford also purchased Trevor’s share of the business in December 2005. In 2006, Kevin Stanford remained the company’s largest shareholder after AllSaints sold a 35% part to the Icelandic financial firm Baugur Group. The business established its e-commerce website at the end of 2006.

AllSaints fashion swiftly expanded internationally in 2009–2010, opening its first U.S. store in New York and developing an e-commerce website tailored to the U.S. AllSaints then opened stores in Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Santa Monica, Seattle, and Chicago, among other places in the U.S. The North American expansion cost £43 million by 2010. Designers Kait Bolongaro and Stuart Trevor launched All Saints in 1994. Building a “Cool and original fashion label with vintage-inspired clothing that pertain a current, rock ‘n’ roll-type vibe for both men and women” was the two partners’ dream. Stuart Trevor intended for the brand to be called “The Saint,” which is an acronym for his first name, “St.” But when he went to a carnival the summer before the establishment, he was inspired by the “All Saints Road” in Notting Hill. At first, All Saints Fashion only participated in retail. We held our first fashion show in Paris in February 1995, showcasing clothes for men. More than 100 of the world’s leading retailers, including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Barneys New York in the United States, Fred Segal in Los Angeles, and Shops/Beams in Japan, were drawn to us. We decided to open Fouberts Place on Carnaby Street in London, formally introducing All Saints fashion to British high-end street fashion, because of our rich fashion attitude, underground music ambiance, and vivid cultural past. In celebration, our first store opened on November 1, 1997.

In 1998, four years later, All Saints Fashion debuted its first womenswear collection with designer Kait Bolongaro.
